The loss of carpark spaces should be avoided. There are already too few spaces, especially disabled spaces.

Also the entrance and mini roundabout where you can turn left into petrol station or go straight ahead or right into supermarket is already very congested with current flow (or lack of flow) of traffic.

Not convinced impact on local garden centre as the purchasing power of large national supermarket chain is great then local smaller independent centre. Council should be supporting local enterprises rather then large national outlets.

This application was considered by Lake Parish Council at its meeting held on 8 May 2019. The Council resolved to recommend refusal. The proposed garden centre is in two areas each side of a traffic lane, which will cause road safety problems. It also requires the removal of several car parking spaces and there is already inadequate parking avialble at the store due to the recent rebuild.
