Go West Wight!!!
Event date: 24th August 2017
Julie Dixon is raising money for West Wight Sports & Community Centre
A group of Friends decided it would be a good idea to take on the Challenge of: 4k Sea Swim, 140k cycle, 40k Row & 40k Run to finish within a 40 hour timescale.
It came about from Martin Scotcher saying he would like to give it a go and to celebrate him becoming 50 this year!! I then jumped onto this saying 'ooh well I'm 40 this year, I'll do it with you'. This will also coincide with the Sports Centre celebrating its 40th anniversary. From there we had others say they would like to give it a go.
I hope that a few of us will complete the full challenge, while others will dip in and out and support in their areas of strength.
There will be a timetable of the events and planned stops throughout the two days so please feel free to come along and support where you can.
We will also have a group of supporters throughout the two days during each event, including Kayakers and support boat for the swim, car support for the cycle, boat support for the row and car support and fresh runners for the run section to assist in keeping us going for the last part of the challenge. Support for the run will come from WW Running Community and IOW Road Runners.
