Hi all, I had a serious riding accident whilst competing in "The Isle of Wight Hunt Scurry" it was a freak accident on my own horse Dandy and as we met the penultimate fence all wrong....my last thought was "this is going to hurt" (but I didn't expect it to be that bad!!) It was a rotational fall and I had already been knocked unconscious as we took off, so to be honest there was little hope, we both crash landed in spectacular style with my mother going from me to Dandy who was also down (in complete panic mode!). So I come round and Dand got up thankfully!! But it did however turn out that I had broken my back and was completly paralized from the chest down and spent 6 months in hospital. 

The Injured Jockeys Fund were great, they helped me get my wheelchair, support with getting around and generally were always there for me where ever they could.. now I am back on my feet after being told I would never walk again, I would like to raise money to help others that are less fortunate than me. I will be cycling 1000 miles, from Land's End to John O Groats in 12 days. It's going to be a tough challenge, but I'm up for it and will give it my best shot!!! 

All credit to Dandy who I still own and ride now cause if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be where I am today that's for sure, he is my rock and best friend xx
