Two lucky sisters from Ventnor will have their design feature on The Royal Hotel’s Christmas card for 2016, after winning a design competition.

The budding artists, seven year old Anna Copping, and her nine year old sister, Chloe, will see their designs distributed to guests and friends of the hotel over the festive period.

The girls visited The Royal last Saturday to enjoy a scrumptious lunch in recognition of their efforts. While they were there, they even managed to help the Grinch, who was in town for the Ventnorville celebrations, grow his heart!

Collaboration between Youth Trust and Royal Hotel
The Christmas Card Competition, which was featured in the County Press last month (November), was a collaboration between the Youth Trust and The Royal Hotel, which has a long history of supporting the Youth Trust’s work and is a Gold Corporate Sponsor of the charity.

William Bailey, Managing Director of The Royal said,

“This project was designed to encourage children to get creative and have the opportunity for their creative flair to be recognised.

“We hope it also provided a great chance for children and young people and their families to get involved in a fun activity.”

Recognising talents
Eileen Monks OBE, Director of the Youth Trust added,

“Here at the Youth Trust we carry out the serious work of supporting Island children and young people with professional counselling.

“This competition has been a chance for us to have a bit of fun with young Islanders and it’s also an opportunity for them to have their talents recognised.”
