The holiday's over: Creepy images reveal the rotting remains of a once popular tourist camp with crumbling kitchen, graffitied walls and slimy swimming pool

Its ballroom was once filled with waltzing couples, the bar was packed with happy holidaymakers and children splashed about in the swimming pool.

But now Atherfield Bay holiday camp on the Isle of Wight lies derelict, and these incredible photos capture the deserted site in all its creepy beauty.

Photographer Damian Haworth visited the old camp in the south west of the isle and, using his Nikon D7100 camera, took pictures of its crumbling kitchen, graffitied walls and peeling ceilings. The unsettled skies on the day he took the photos add to the eerie feel of the photos.

The camp dates back to the 1930s but has been abandoned for six years with the site since bogged down in a planning row over its future. The old buildings now look set for demolition as part of a proposed development.
