Southern Vectis’ Dave Forrester has been shortlisted for Top National Bus Driver in the highly-regarded UK Bus Awards.

Singled out for his professionalism, excellent customer service and communications skills and amiable personality, the popular Isle of Wight bus driver also scored highly for his adaptable and flexible work ethic.

His commitment to promoting the Island’s many attractions, and enthusiasm for charity fundraising, has also been recognised.

Rightly recognised for his efforts
Southern Vectis managing director, Andrew Wickham, said,

“This is a wonderful compliment from the judges of these respected awards – and I’m delighted for Dave.

“We are fortunate enough to have a group of experienced and highly-skilled professionals, providing out customers with an excellent service, transporting them across the Isle of Wight with the minimum of fuss.

“But Dave stands out. His colleagues say he is a joy to work with – and our passengers hold him in very high regard. This latest recognition is just reward for all his efforts.”

Absolutely love the job
Dave added,

“I’m really pleased to have been shortlisted in such a competitive category. To be chosen as one of the country’s top professionals in my field is a highlight of my career.

“It’s great to receive recognition for something that I absolutely love doing.”

The UK Bus Awards scheme was founded in 1996. It was designed to develop further the Bus Good Practice Awards – which were set up by the Association of Metropolitan Authorities in 1991.

Overall winners of the awards – which recognise and reward excellence in a whole variety of disciplines – are set to be announced at a ceremony to be held at The Ballroom on London’s South Bank on Tuesday 23 November.
