Police are hoping someone will recognise the image of the man

An e-fit has been released of a man whose body was found in a kayak on an Isle of Wight Beach and has still not been identified.

The man, believed to be aged between 20 and 30-years-old, was found dead on Yaverland Beach, Sandown, nearly four weeks ago.

He was last seen in Newhaven on September 8 at about 16:00 BST, where he had visited a canoe shop.

The body was recovered from the beach three days later on 11 September.

CCTV images show him wearing beige shorts and a blue zip-up jacket. He was also thought to have an Irish accent.

The kayak was a yellow and black inflatable Sevylor Conrad.

Officers are keen to identify the man so his next of kin can be informed.

Police said his death is currently being treated as unexplained.
