Frack Free Isle of Wight offer drop-in session to find out more

This in from Lisa on behalf of Frack Free Isle of Wight. In her own words. Ed

The Government has awarded five blocks of the Isle of Wight to the Oil and Gas Industry as licences for exploration and development, which may include conventional methods and/or the controversial technique known as fracking.

All five blocks have been awarded to Angus Energy Ltd in partnership with Solo Oil PLC and UK Oil & Gas Investments PLC (UKOG).

This is only the beginning. Licencees will now have to apply for specific planning permission should they wish to proceed, and obtain environmental permits etc, so we shall keep a close eye on developments.

Informal drop-in session
We are holding a public meeting on Saturday 16th January by way of an informal drop-in between 10am – 2pm, Unitarian Meeting House, Newport, PO30 1SS for people to find out more about fracking, the regulatory process.
