Isle of Wight musicians come together for Green Party benefit concert

Thanks to Daniel from the Isle of Wight Green party for details of this event. Ed

The Isle of Wight Green Party is to benefit from a fund-raising concert organised by prominent Island musicians.

To be held at St. Catherine’s Church in Ventnor on the evening of Friday 11th December, this night of acoustic music is the follow-up to the packed-out ‘Green is for Go’ event which took place at Quay Arts in Newport during the General Election campaign.

Paul Armfield and Lamb’s Jon Thorne have been touring Europe together during October and November in support of Paul’s ‘Found’ album. This critically-acclaimed album tells stories inspired by a collection of vintage photographs found in Berlin flea markets.

Double-bass player Jon has recorded and performed with many well-known artists including Danny Thompson, Robert Fripp, Donovan and Mr. Scruff. At the benefit concert, Jon’s Ecology Jazz Trio will feature special guests Mark Chettle on piano and Rupert Brown on drums.

The event begins at 7:30pm and tickets are £5 each, with all proceeds going to the Isle of Wight Green Party campaign fund. Advance tickets are available via PayPal
