Halseys play for St. Mary’s Chemotherapy Unit

The Halsey Duo are performing a special concert as part of the Ventnor Fringe Festival at St. Catherine’s Church on Saturday, 16th August at 3pm.

halsey-duo-croppedFather and daughter, James (cello) and Sally (piano) share a natural love of chamber music and promise to delight with a varied programme including the wonderful Brahms cello and piano sonata in F, exciting and energetic Martinu Slovak Theme and Variations, and Schumann’s thoughtful and turbulent Fantasiestücke.

Vic King of Vaguely Sunny has organised the concert to raise funds towards specialist equipment at St. Mary’s Hospital’s Chemotherapy Unit.

Up and coming young pianist Sally, from Bonchurch is in her third year studying piano and harpsichord at Trinity College of Music in London with Gabriele Baldocci, while James is cellist of the Bingham String Quartet and Tagore Trio performing regularly at home and abroad; and is Director of the Aboyne Cello Festival.

As well as a feast of music, the afternoon concert will have delicious refreshments kindly provided by the church, during the interval!
