Appley Beach

Find out how to be part of the World’s largest human dinosaur

This in from Visit IW, in their own words, Ed

As part of Visit Isle of Wight’s ‘Year of the Dinosaur’, holiday makers and locals alike are invited to become part of the World’s Largest Human Dinosaur on Sunday 1st September at 2pm.

Taking place on one of the Isle of Wight’s most popular beaches, hundreds of people are expected to come to the beach to form a human Pelosaurus shape. The event will be filmed from the air and is a fantastic free opportunity for people to take part in a ‘World’s first’ event.

Former world record breaker
The event is being organised by Roger Crouch who for the past five years has masterminded Pirate Day in Hastings where the ‘Largest Gathering of Pirates’ gained Hastings an entry into the Guinness Book of Records. In 2011 Roger also created the largest Skull and Crossbones made from people – a feat which drew attention from around the world.

Roger says,

“Come and have a brilliant, fun day at Appley Beach and be part of creating an unforgettable dinosaur image.”

All participants are welcome, there’s no need to register, just arrive at Appley Beach before 2pm and join in the fun.
