Police appeal to driver involved in collision with teenager

Police are appealing for a motorist to come forward after a report of a teenage girl receiving injuries in a road traffic collision on the Isle of Wight.

The 13-year-old was crossing the road with friends near the bus stop close to the Newport Crematorium and Fairlee Road.

The girl has told police a collision occurred involving her and a car between midnight and 1am on the morning of Monday, August 12, 2013.

The motorist stopped at the scene and he took the girl to hospital where she was treated for ankle and hip injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening.

Appeal for driver to come forward
Police are appealing for the driver and any other witnesses to come forward.

The motorist, witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Newport Police Station by phoning 101.
