David Lewis to climb Kilimajaro for Childreach International

A reminder for any readers who missed David’s first appeal back in November last year. Ed

Along with a group of 20 students from Oxford Brookes University I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on 18th August. I need to raise £2,500 for Childreach International to be able to climb and hope to raise around £1,000 myself through a part-time job.

Raising vital funds
Childreach International is a relatively new international development charity that believes all children should have the opportunity to unlock their full potential in life. They start from the bottom up, working in partnership with local communities in the developing world.

They focus on three main immediate needs; improving access to education, improved health, and greater child rights and protection.

This challenge means a lot to me as last year I spent six months working as a teacher in Malawi, during that time I got to travel in Tanzania and I got a first-hand experience of the poverty the country is facing. It was at that point that I decided that I would try and help out in any way I could.

Small donations can really help
I am not asking for much, just a small donation to the cause, in fact just £7 provides a child with access to a team of health professionals in rural Nepal. Only £16 is needed to provide a child with books vital to their learning throughout their entire primary education and £90 provides enough rice to feed a school for three months.

Anything you can give will be a great help to Childreach International and the kids worldwide. If you wish to donate then please go to my online donating page.

Please note some of the money raised will be used for my own expenses.
