Team Happy walks to make a difference: 26-28 April 2013
The young deaf people have also been volunteers at Happy Day Autistic club hence the name Team Happy! The aim is to cover as many miles as possible around the Isle of Wight using ferry, bus, train, cable car, bike, feet you name it we will try and use it! Money raised will support both the youth club and Happy Days.
Isle of Wight is located in the English Channel, 3–5 miles (5–8 km) off the south coast of the county of Hampshire, separated from the mainland by a strait called the Solent. It is 23 miles long and 13 miles in wide, we will catch a ferry from the New Forest over to the Isle on the first leg of our journey. Along with the challenge of covering as many miles we will also try and find the eight wonders of the Isle too?
· Needles you cannot thread
· Freshwater you cannot drink
· Cowes you cannot milk
· Newport you cannot bottle
· Lake you can walk through and stay dry
· Ryde where you walk
· Newtown which is very old
· Winkle Street where there are no winkles!
We will let you know how we get on and photo's will be posted on the Coles Diner website.
Please sponsor us, all money raised goes towards the youth club and helps keep our doors open for the young people at Mary Hare. So as one group leave to attend college and further education another group will be able to enjoy the magic of Coles Diner for years to come, thanks to the fundraising efforts of the young people.
