Shanklin Primary pupils celebrate Harvest Festival

Thanks to Head Teacher, David Moorse, from Shanklin Primary School for sharing this latest news. Ed

What a privilege to enjoy the Harvest Celebration Performances on Wednesday.

Every class put such hard work into their poems, songs, chants and actions and it really showed! I was proud of the effort you all put in to make it such a splendid performance.

Although it was very much a community and team event, two individuals did stand out too – Rosemary Marshall (Yr 1) filled the church with her beautifully memorised poem, and Luke Dietman (Yr 4) led the marching chant like a true Sergeant Major!

Harvest worship enjoyed by all
We also enjoyed Harvest Worship with Rev Standing of St Blasius Church, in school on Friday morning, with Prayers, Poems and Song by the children. It was a joyful celebration of what we, all too easily, take for granted.

The children took great delight in distributing your gifts to the elderly of our neighbourhood. They were MUCH appreciated and shared a little joy around Shanklin!

Year 6 who organised and helped lead the Harvest Service with the gifts ready to be packed up and distributed to the elderly in the local community.

A BIG thank you to all of you who kindly donated gifts.
