YMCA TEAM 7 HAS COMPLETED THE CHALLENGE! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONATE
From 27th September to 1st October 2012, Kelly Burke, Dr Jac Tracey, Caroline Ash, Roz Drysdale and Kelly Edwards who all work for YMCA Children's Bereavement Service, Isle of Wight completed the Screwball Rally banger car challenge around Europe!!! The work colleagues decided to undertake the challenge to help raise vital funds and promote their service which supports bereaved island children.
The team's Renault Laguna car (otherwise known as Camille), worth less then £750 was donated by local garage F.H Winter and Sons. Signpost Express an island design company also had laminated the car and created cartoon versions of the team.
Over 5 days YMCA Team 7 covered just short of 1800 miles across England, France, Italy, Eastern Switzerland and Liechtenstein. During pit stops, the team played the well known YMCA tune from the car and danced in Village People hats to further promote their cause; they even got some of the other teams and locals involved!
