Peace Routes Join Fast For Palestinian Political Prisoners

Thanks to Linda for sharing details of this upcoming fast. Having not seen any media reports about the hunger strikes, it’s good to be able to share the news. In her own words. Ed

Peace cranes:Peace Routes will be joining the fast (initiated by Jewish voices for peace) on Thursday 17th May in support of the 1,600 – 2,000 Palestinian political prisoners on hunger strike.

One man is close to death having been on hunger strike for over 70 days, others also have seriously weakened health.

Largest hunger strike in history
It is the largest hunger strike in history and most of our main media has failed to report the news of this desperate attempt by imprisoned Palestinians to be heard, where they are protesting about being held without trial, under the ‘arbitrary arrest’ and ‘administrative detention’ procedures, amongst other violations of their human rights.

Hunger strike posterIt is a peaceful protest and should be applauded, the restraint of Palestinians in not turning to violence is little reported in the established news channels.

Many people around the globe are awake to the corporate media’s failing in this respect, and this gap has been filled by other, more trusted alternatives.
