Red Arrows Cause Cattle Stampede On Culver Down

Red Arrows Cause Cattle StampedeIt would appear that the fabulous Red Arrows display which thousands of people along the east and south coast of the Wight came out to watch on Sunday, wasn’t appreciated by everyone.

Spectators on Culver Down were met with a stampede of cattle, who had apparently been frightened by the jets passing overhead and set off on a rampage – causing damage to several cars on the downs.

It’s not thought to have been a problem before, and thankfully no-one was hurt (including the cows).

A spokesperson for the National Trust, who rent out the land to farmers, stated that they would advise in the future that cattle are moved to another field away from the action, next time a display by the Red Arrows is planned.

Perhaps they were just trying to get a better view!
