Quay Arts’ Creative Summer Schools Courses

Quay Arts’ major exhibition The West Collection – A Quay Vision is showing works from leading British and American artists including works by L.S. Lowry, Elisabeth Frink, Barbara Hepworth, Bridget Riley and Roy Lichtenstein and was the seed for an abundant selection of ultra creative Summer School courses this year.

Quay Arts' Creative Summer Schools CoursesThe artists delivering Summer School have themselves been inspired by the collection to devise individual courses covering a broad range of artforms including life drawing, sculpture, printmaking, portraiture, ceramics and painting.

In addition there are three themed Gallery Days to encourage students to work with a sketchbook under tutor guidance.

Fashionable teenagers
For the fashion-mad teenager, there are three fun days of exploring the fabulously flamboyant 70s scene and designing their own clothes and jewellery.

Quay Arts' Creative Summer Schools CoursesFor our jewellery aficionados (and those tempted to try jewellery-making for the first time), we are offering our most popular courses, in Precious Metal Clay, Silver and Fused Glass.

Jacqui Ager, Education Officer for Quay Arts stated: “I hope that you will be as excited by the programme as we are. Make time for yourself to be creative this summer”

Split venues
Some of the workshops take place at Jubilee Stores, within walking distance of the Quay Arts, this participatory arts space is home to six artists’ studios with state of the art jewellery studios, ceramic studios and printmaking facilities.
