Little Brig Sailing Trust Names Second Tall Ship

It’s all charity, charity, charity on VB so far today, but that goes to show what huge hearts we all have on the Island.

Little Brig Sailing Trust Names Second Tall ShipThis coming Saturday Cowes based charity, the Little Brig Sailing Trust, will be holding a special naming ceremony for its second tall ship, Caroline Allen.

What is the Little Brig Sailing Trust?
If you haven’t heard of the Trust before, they happen to operate the world’s smallest tall ships which take young sailors out on the waters to experience sailing a vessel with 10 sails and a hundred ropes.

Caroline Allen will be sister brig to the Trust’s first brig, Bob Allen.

Bob Allen is the name of the chap who paid for the building of the first brig and the hull of the second brig

Trustee Max Mudie said: “This is a very special moment for us. For the Trust, for the estate of the late Bob Allen but most of all for all the young sailors who will get to try the fun of sailing a square rigged vessel. Sailing a tall ship is an amazing experience. We can offer it to those too young to sail on the bigger ships”.

If you want to watch the naming, it takes place on Saturday at midday at the Royal Yacht Squadron Jetty in Cowes.

Access to the jetty is restricted (Health & Safety) and the ceremony can be viewed from the Promenade.
