Hip Hop Weekend In Ryde

Our friends up north, Happy Feet Productions, have teamed up with Bring The Noise from over the water to bring you the very finest in UK and US hip hop this coming weekend.

Hip Hop Weekend In RydeIt all kicks off on Friday night with the Happy Feet/Bring The Noise UK Hip Hop Special featuring Ghost, Kashmere and Verb T.

If like me, you’ve not heard of any of the above, according to the promoters of the event, Ghost is a hip-hop producer and DJ of over ten years experience. He’s developed his blueprint of hip hop with a nod to the past and an eye firmly on the future.

The beats have a deep and layered sound, bringing a new edge to the scene along with a slice of flavour from 90s legends Pete Rock, Diamond D & Large Pro. Mainly on Breakin Bread, a number of his productions for MC’s have come out on other labels (Lowlife, Receptor, Suspect-Packages).

Kashmere (pictured above checking out rural vibes), also known as The Iguana Man, has collaborated with just about everyone in the UK that has skills. From cameos on Breakin Bread to tracks with Foreign Beggars, Kash consistently comes up with mad lyrics & ill flows.

But don’t think that is all, because there’ll also be support from local hip hop crews, beatboxing (did anyone see the fantastic MC Beardyman at Bestival last week? How amazing was he?) and DJs in the shape of Mr Bevis, Southcoast Beatbox Finalist/ Frustrated Natives/ Sumo, T-Cuts from The Lab/ Bring The Noise/ South coast Statements, Ambush Tactics from The Liquid Lounge/ Bring The Noise and Sam Moore from Happy Feet Productions

Tickets for each event are priced at £6 each or £10 for both nights. We’ll be bringing you details tomorrow of the Saturday Wild Style/Cold Crush Brothers Tour lineup which features Charlie Chase and Prince Whipper Whip. [image courtesy of Purple Haze)
